Sparky's job matching engine is powered by Gemini 3 Flash via OpenRouter, running on the Convex agent framework. When a customer describes their problem, the AI processes the natural language input against 14 specialised UK electrical knowledge domains — including Part P Building Regulations, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), NICEIC standards, NAPIT standards, EV charging regulations (OLEV), fire safety, emergency lighting, and more. The system then queries the electrician database, filtering by geographic proximity (using postcodes.io for UK postcode geocoding), accreditations on file, listed skills, and current availability. Matched electricians are contacted through a multi-channel outreach system: ElevenLabs conversational AI makes real phone calls to explain the job, Twilio delivers SMS summaries, and Postmark sends detailed email briefs. The entire matching pipeline runs as serverless functions on Convex with real-time subscriptions keeping all parties updated.
