Can I cancel a job?
Yes, you can cancel a job through Sparky, but the timing affects whether any fees apply. If you cancel before the electrician is dispatched—typically within 15 minutes of approval—there's no charge, and the payment authorization on your card will be released automatically within 1-3 business days. However, once an electrician is on their way to your location, they've committed time and fuel to reaching you, so cancellation may incur the quoted call-out fee (usually £50-£100). This covers their wasted journey. To cancel, open the app, navigate to the active job, and tap 'Cancel Job' or contact Sparky support directly. If you're canceling due to an emergency or the electrician is running very late, contact us and we'll work with you on a fair resolution. In some cases, we may be able to reschedule instead of canceling. If the electrician cancels on you, there are never any fees, and we'll immediately search for a replacement professional.
